STYLE NO. 1907 : Classic Moc

Modeled after Red Wing’s original work boot style, the 1907 is a 6-Inch Moc Toe featuring Copper Rough & Tough leather, white Traction Tred rubber outsole, Norwegian-like welt, triple stitched quality and leather laces.

THE HISTORY BEHIND THE STYLE

Red Wing’s Classic Work boots were designed and built to withstand the daily rigors of the work day on the farm and in the factory. The lightweight crepe sole featured a minimal tread design to reduce the mud that would cling to a farmer’s boots but still provide the underfoot comfort the work day required. Red Wing would brand the crepe sole as the Traction Tred sole. These classic boots featured a moc toe design. The name came from the word moccasin, the Algonquian Indian word for shoe. This combination of the u-shaped moc toe leather upper and the white crepe sole would become the iconic boot style for the Red Wing brand. It is one of the oldest Red Wing styles and a best-seller.

Oil-Tanned Leather

S.B. Foot Tanning Co. is best known for oil-tanned leather which is used to build a variety of timeless Red Wing styles. This leather is water, stain and perspiration resistant, and has a more natural look and feel because less finishing materials have been applied, allowing its natural beauty to shine through. Oil-tanned leather is exceptionally durable and has been used to build countless work boots throughout Red Wing’s 108+ year history.

STYLE NO. 1907 : Classic Moc

A new pair of Red Wing Heritage boots should fit comfortably tight on your foot, with enough room to freely wiggle your toes. Over time the full grain leather upper, leather footboard and cork midsole mold to your feet, creating an enduring and customized fit over time with each wear.

The 1907 is built using the No. 45 Last:

  • Is the only Last built with a removable footbed
  • Includes a footbed that can be removed to fine-tune your fit
  • Fits ½ size large

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tough & Comfortable After years of buying "Made in Somewhere Else", I saved up and bought this style of Red Wing boots. It has been the best boot that I've owned. After the initial break in period, these fit and perform like a comfortable sneaker (speaking for myself). I have noticed that after owning them for a little over a year, and wearing them almost everyday for 8-12 hours, the soles will need to be refurbished. I consider that cost a part of my investment after throwing away money on cheap and uncomfortable shoes. This is my first pair of Red Wings and certainly not my last, they are, in my opinion, best money value over a long term. December 4, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great boot After applying mink oil they broke in within a day. Exceptional quality and second to non craftsmanship. A bit heavy and bulky but it is a work boot that lives up too and surpasses all expectations. Rugged, durable, and really comfortable. November 26, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by I was so excited about getting a pair of the 1907s. I have for many years wanted a pair of Red Wing Shoes. Recently I bought a pair of the 1907s. I never had a tough break-in stage. The boots felt great from day one. My job requires me to walk outside daily and the boots feel so good on my feet! I have always worn hiking shoes, but the boots are going to replace them. I am thinking about getting a pair of 875s for use away from work. November 19, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Every working man should own a pair once in their life I've always just bought workboots that were good enough. They're going to be subjected to heat, snow, every kind of task imaginable, and long hours. I had a little extra money put back and I wanted to try a quality pair of boots. I'm glad I did. If you're the type of guy who spends most of his life at work and in bed, buy a quality mattress, and a pair of Red Wings. The price stings a little at first, but that goes away pretty quick. Comfortable, durable, and beautiful, they truly are the gold standard. I'm normally a 12, got my 1907's in 11 1/2 and they fit like a glove. November 18, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Solid boots but narrow I have not had this boot for long and it is still very stiff and narrow. I have a bit of a wide foot and it's tight around my toes and forefoot. I was told that they will eventually widen when broken in, is this true? And if so, how much wider can they become? December 28, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Bulletproof I bought a pair of Redwing 1907s as a birthday present to myself almost three years ago. They have proved to be the best boot I've ever owned! It took some time(and oil) to break them in, but now they are as comfortable and supple as an old baseball glove. I use them mostly for work but they also clean up well to use as a casual dress boot. I would recommend trading out the standard insoles for the Shaped Comfort Footbed insoles as the standard insoles offer 1920s era support. November 9, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by You simply can't go wrong buying a heritage Red Wing boot! The first pair of Red Wings I bought were the cheaper " work wear line" of boots. I found them uncomfortable, not lasting long and unknowingly not made in Red Wing MN or the USA for that matter. I then was introduced to the "heritage line" of boots by a older guy I worked with that has bought them since the late 60's. I have never looked back since. I'm on my fifth pair of heritage boots. Not because they wore out but because I loved them so much I wanted to try new styles. I've had my first pair of 875's resoled by Red Wing and it's like getting a new pair of boots with the worn in feel. They are going on 6 years and are my go to boot for work. I stand & work on a concreate floor for 9 hours a day and would never wear anything else. I also recommend getting the better upgraded insoles. Although pricey they are well worth the money. Yes the heritage line is pricey but considering you'll get years of comfortable wear out of the boots compared to the cheaper not made in USA "work line" of Red Wings I highly suggest the heritage line. I have tried 4 different styles of boots and love them all. They will last me for many years to come. They are well worth the price! December 20, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Top Notch In 1974 I bought a pair of these boots for $55 on sale. I was 17. I went hunting, walked everywhere, walked to swim practice at 5:30am and went to college wearing these boots, walked to practice at 5:30 wore out the soles and had a shoe repairman replace them with lugged vibrams and walked all over campus, a part time job as a dishwasher got so much grease on these boots they stayed waterproof for 4 years and they were molded to my feet. I never owned a car until I was 25. After college it was on to grad school and after 8 years and another pair of vibram soles and summer jobs as a furniture mover I traded them in for wing tips. I went everywhere in those boots and they never let me down. I wish to heck I had kept them just as a souvenir. Now I am almost 59 and I'm out of the office and I'm building an organic garden (Its a huge garden or even mini farm lol) and I think in retirement I'm going to be a market gardener. Never could sit still and I bought another pair of 877s and I will let you know in 8 years how far these have gone. The 2015 model is exactly the same. One caveat in 74' I only had one pair rain or shine and I think this time around I will have a 2d pair (6" for #2) to let the 1st one dry out bc even it rains I am not staying inside if there is work to be done. Living your dreams is easier in a good pair of boots. November 30, 2015
