STYLE NO. 8115 : Iron Ranger

The 8115 is a rugged 6-Inch boot, featuring premium Copper Rough & Tough leather, chrome hardware, speed hooks, Goodyear welt construction and triple stitched quality. Its double layer leather toe cap, leather heel pocket and Nitrile Cork outsole make it a favorite.

THE HISTORY BEHIND THE STYLE

The local residents of the Mesabi Iron Range in northern Minnesota are proudly known as Iron Rangers due to their rugged toughness. The Iron Ranger work boots were built for iron miners in this region who required a double layer of leather over the toe for extra safety. It’s tough and elegant all at once.

Oil-Tanned Leather

S.B. Foot Tanning Co. is best known for oil-tanned leather which is used to build a variety of timeless Red Wing styles. This leather is water, stain and perspiration resistant, and has a more natural look and feel because less finishing materials have been applied, allowing its natural beauty to shine through. Oil-tanned leather is exceptionally durable and has been used to build countless work boots throughout Red Wing’s 108+ year history.

STYLE NO. 8115 : Iron Ranger

A new pair of Red Wing Heritage boots should fit comfortably tight on your foot, with enough room to freely wiggle your toes. Over time the full grain leather upper, leather footboard and cork midsole mold to your feet, creating an enduring and customized fit over time with each wear.

The 8115 is built using the No. 8 Last:

  • Features a bump toe for more room up-front
  • Fits a variety of foot shapes
  • Should be sized up ½ if used with a footbed or orthotic

Rated 1 out of 5 by Bummed It is sad to see that the 8115's come in no other width but D. I have always counted on RedWing to have B or C widths so I shop nowhere else for shoes and boots. Not so this time. December 19, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect boots for everything except winter. I've had these boots almost 3 years now, and I use them for everything from electrical install work (up and down ladders all day) to hiking, to formal events (with a polishing). Break in is a bit tough, but after 3 weeks of "now and then" wearing, they were the most comfortable things I've ever put my feet in. It's realy incredible the way they polish up, even after being very scraped and grazed from work. The sole seems to last indefinitely. I've had no noticeable wear on the sole. The only negative is winter traction, but this is not a modern rubber soled boot, so what do you expect? November 18, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by The best boot I have ever owned I have worn these everyday for almost 2 years and they are still going strong. These boots once they get broken in are like slippers. The only thing to be aware of is there aren't great for Buffalo winters due to the flat sole. December 25, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Classic Style at its Best Absolutely love these boot, Never thought they would have been good hiking boots but I took them to the top of Estes Cone in Colorado, 4 miles up and back down again and they did great. These are my favorites and look good with just about any natural made material, I own them in Harness but the Muleskinner is my Fav. December 24, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Purchase All Year Purchased the Iron Rangers to replace similar style Chippewa boots. Awesome decision, I work 10 hour days at a busy pawn shop, moving heavy items and stepping around saws, mowers etc, nothing beats these for comfort (after break in) durability, and style. Would suggest to anyone working in a field with minor dangers or looking for a great investment. December 19, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by iron rangers are a gret fit. bought my iron rangers dec 2015 love this boots, wear them all the time. break in time 2 days 14hrs a day. own 7 pair of red wing boots like all of them. December 17, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Tough and luxurious Bought these at the local Redwing Store (Gainesville,Fl) after reviewing online for many weeks. I have only had then for about 2 weeks, but I can already tell that the boots will last for years. Initially, the boot is very stiff, but if you wear them daily and walk a lot, the break in period will be minimal. I am still breaking my pair in. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra on a Made in America product. It might seem like a lot of money upfront, but it helps support our local economy and you really are buying a quality product. Rated 4 out of 5 by Great boots but would like one option The boots are fantastic. They look and feel amazing. It would be nice however if I could purchase them with the Beckman sole so I could have a a little traction in the snow and ice. I could send them off to be resoled but that's another $100 on top of the boot price. Just something Red Wing should offer in their stores as an option. October 29, 2015
