STYLE NO. 3406 : Clara
Clara Inspired by Red Wing’s first boot for women, the “Gloria.” This modern interpretation of a classic moc toe, with a genuine leather-stacked heel and a three-quarter Goodyear welt, showcases premium, Red Wing Amber Harness leather.
THE HISTORY BEHIND THE STYLE
Red Wing has been making women’s hiking and riding boots as far back as the 1920s. The Clara is a throwback to our early women’s boots, with a moc toe and lace-up style, but just not quite as tall, and updated with a more tapered silhouette and grippy Vibram® outsole for 21st century adventures.
Oil Tanned leather is a very durable and vivid leather.
S.B. Foot Tanning Co. is best known for oil-tanned leather which is used to build a variety of timeless Red Wing styles. This leather is water, stain and perspiration resistant, and has a more natural look and feel because less finishing materials have been applied, allowing its natural beauty to shine through. Oil-tanned leather is exceptionally durable and has been used to build countless work boots throughout Red Wing’s 108+ year history.

In order to build a Red Wing boot to an exact size and width, the boot is constructed around a shoe last.

If only I could wear these boots every day..After dreaming about the Clara boot for months (since the women's line launched), I finally bit the bullet and bought a pair about two months ago. I was nervous there would be a painful break-in period after watching my brothers struggle with their Red Wings over the years. Much to my surprise (and my toes' delight) these boots were comfortable from the first wear, not so much as a blister! The minimal heel and sturdy sole, combined with foot and ankle-hugging upper make for a supportive trek to and from the subway. Each time I put them on they feel more and more like custom shoes.
My only disappointment is that I can't wear these to the office every day.

Bad Heel QualityMy wife got these when they came out late last year and they have now become unwearable because of the heels falling apart. The rubber on the bottom wore through in just a couple months and into the stacked leather heel. Now, the rubber has fallen off, with a metal screw being exposed. In my opinion, this is unacceptable for such an expensive boot!

PerfectI was brought these for xmas from my husband,I already have a flat pair but wanted a heel. Im mega fussy with comfort and was so delighted with these straight out the box comfort. I would say though I went up half a size as my normal 37 didn't fit.

FantasticI grew up in Minnesota and I remember my grandpa would always wear his Redwings. Last year my husband bought a pair of Iron Ranger boots. He loves them.
Last week we discovered the new line for women. I ordered the Clara in Amber. I'm so glad that I did.
They arrived the next day in a beautiful box. Each boot was wrapped in a soft cotton bag. When I opened the bags the scent of rich leather erased any buyers remorse I may have had.
These boots are amazing. I ordered my regular size of 8. They fit perfectly. They are well constructed without being too heavy. The stacked sole is a work of art. In just a few hours of wearing them they have conformed to my feet. No blisters or soreness. The heals are stable and very comfortable. It has been cold in Milwaukee this week(-5 this morning). While they are not a cold-weather boot my feet have not felt cold while wearing them around town.
The Clara looks really cute with jeans. I have not worn them with a skirt yet, they would lend a vintage vibe. I first wore them with boot-cut jeans and I wasn't happy with that look because my jeans covered up too much of the boot. I definitely want to show these amazing boots off!
I feel it's important to buy "Made in America" if I can. I've felt this way for years, before it beacame popular to do so. With that said, these beautiful boots are works of art that also happen to be made in my home state. In buying them, I so appreciate the craftsmanship and the quality of materials. I know that they are expensive but they are meant to last a lifetime. In buying these I know that I am supporting hard-working Minnesota families.
I am so happy with this purchase. Thank you!!!

Solid bootFinally! A women's heritage line!
As with all leather boots, this boot took about a month to break in after everyday use. Everything about this boot is stylish and absolutely sturdy. The heel has ample support and the bottom foot bed is comfortable. I recommend sizing up by 1/2 to give yourself room to wear a thicker sock if need be.
I use this boot on and off my motorcycle and can be easily functionable (and fashionable) for different scenarios. The craftsmanship on this boot speaks for itself and I'm super happy about the line.
