STYLE NO. 8106 : Classic Oxford

The 8106 is a moc toe oxford, classically crafted with Black Chrome leather, a Traction Tred rubber outsole, traditional Goodyear welt construction and triple stitched quality to function as a durable and smart-looking shoe.

THE HISTORY BEHIND THE STYLE

Inspired by the iconic 875 and 877 work boots, Red Wing’s Moc Toe oxfords were built for workers who didn’t need the support of a tall boot but wanted the durability and comfort for which our boots are known.

Full finished leathers have a smooth, polished surface that enhances the natural beauty of the leather. Full finished leathers have a smooth, polished surface that enhances the natural beauty of the leather.

Smooth-Finished Leather

Smooth-finished leathers have a polished surface that enhances the true beauty and quality of the leather. Only the most premium, top-quality hides are used to craft smooth-finished leathers. The result is a beautiful, classic-looking leather used to build more elegant styles, such as the Red Wing Heritage Beckman Collection. The polished look and feel of the smooth-finished leather requires more specialized care and attention to keep it maintained.

STYLE NO. 8106 : Classic Oxford

A new pair of Red Wing Heritage boots should fit comfortably tight on your foot, with enough room to freely wiggle your toes. Over time the full grain leather upper, leather footboard and cork midsole mold to your feet, creating an enduring and customized fit over time with each wear.

The 8106 is built using the No. 23 Last:

  • Was created in the 1950s and is Red Wing’s most iconic last
  • Includes extra room in the forefoot and instep for easy entry
  • Fits a variety of foot shapes
  • Fits ½ size large

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Standing, driving, on your feet but not a lot of walking shoe. I own a pair of the Oxfords, properly fit...buying them after a pair of the same model in a chucka style proved to be comfortable for everything except walking. The leather and craftsmanship is excellent. The shoe's sole is stiff, heavy, and not absorbing...so even after breaking them in, which took a longer time than some of my heavy duty mountaineering boots, they were very comfortable if I were working in my shop, standing in a class room (I teach, too), or driving. But walking an entire day in these boots, even after adding comfort cushioning insoles, felt like I was wearing cast-iron clogs. In shop work, say woodworking, these are great as they insulate from concrete floors and support you standing on your feet...but you're not walking 5-6 miles in them. They are heavy and thick to take abuse and then clean up & be resoled, so they will last forever. And look great 20 years from now. But if you think you're going to walk in comfort, good luck. I have heavier duty backpacking boots that weigh more but wear lighter because of their fit and design. I bought the Oxfords thinking maybe they would be lighter and more suitable for my walking commutes....nope. Just as heavy as the chuckas. So, horses for courses.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very uncomfortable I bought a pair of these thinking they have a nice, soft sole but I could not have been more mistaken. These shoes are so stiff they will break your feet before you break them in. Believe me, I have tried to wear them in but they just kill my feet. Buy at your own risk! You have been warned!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shoe, will last a lifetime....great alternative to boots. 8106-typically robust, beautifully finished and very stylish. I have E or EE in all my other 877/8138/2883 boots but unfortunately these 8106s are only made in D width...so time will tell if they will stretch sufficiently to accommodate my duck feet. Please Red Wing will you make them in E?!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally found a pair I usually don’t wear boots, but I have always loved the look of the Red Wing Classic Moc Toe... finally bought the 6-inch charcoal version a couples of years ago (size 10.5). Fantastic look, amazing craftsmanship and quality, but up until today the most uncomfortable shoe I have ever owned... blisters guaranteed (and believe me, I have worn it a lot, hoping it would get better). Today, I bought a pair of Classic Oxfords (black) in size 10, result: the shoe felt right from the beginning, totally comfortable and no blisters at all... which shows a) how important it is to have someone who doesn‘t just want to sell you a pair of shoes, but actually helps you find the right size. And b) it also shows that a pair of Red Wings should/can be comfortable from the very beginning... Very happy now and prefer the Oxford over the boots - so much easier to slip into...
