STYLE NO. 2991 : Engineer

Tall and rugged like engineers themselves, the 2991 pull-on boot features plain toe åstyling, premium Amber Harness leather, a Nitrile Cork outsole, Goodyear welt construction and silver hardware.

THE HISTORY BEHIND THE STYLE

Originally developed for engineers working on America’s railroads, the Engineer Collection’s pull-on styling and minimal stitching was designed to protect their feet from hot embers.

Oil Tanned leather is a very durable and vivid leather. Oil Tanned leather is a very durable and vivid leather.

Oil-Tanned Leather

S.B. Foot Tanning Co. is best known for oil-tanned leather which is used to build a variety of timeless Red Wing styles. This leather is water, stain and perspiration resistant, and has a more natural look and feel because less finishing materials have been applied, allowing its natural beauty to shine through. Oil-tanned leather is exceptionally durable and has been used to build countless work boots throughout Red Wing’s 108+ year history.

A new pair of Red Wing Heritage boots should fit comfortably tight on your foot, with enough room to freely wiggle your toes. Over time the full grain leather upper, leather footboard and cork midsole mold to your feet, creating an enduring and customized fit over time with each wear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect second pair this was my second pair of red wing boots, and let me tell ya. these boots are well worth the price tag. two months in and they feel like a dream on my feet. I recomend buying 1 to 1/2 size smaller than normal, as i usually wear a size 7.5 or 8 and size 7 red wings fit perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unbeatable I bought these boots in Germany. They needed some breaking in, as you would expect with such boots. Once broken in however, they can only be described as awesome. Don't waste your time looking at others.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The perfect boot!!!! These boots are incredible, so incredible I had to order them from the UK since these boots are not offered in the US! You can not go wrong with these boot, take your time break them in properly and you will have the best boot of your life for decades... Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome! I am not much of a "boot" person...but these are AWESOME! I am use to putting a shoe on and having it be comfortable from the git-go. These were a little off putting at the start. A little stiffer than I am use to, a little tight across the instep. But just give them a few days and they fit like a glove! And the leather can't even describe! Supple seems like to soft a word for such a hefty work boot but what a combo! Love them!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best engineer boots ever! I ride motorcycles and have worn engineer boots from several other makers. The price of the Red Wing engineer boots always scared me off. Finally I took the plunge and I am so glad I did! After a few days of break in, these boots have custom formed to my feet and are extremely comfortable. The leather is thick yet remarkably supple. I am a big fan of the shorter heel on the Red Wings. Makes for a comfortable walk. After wearing for a few weeks they have attained a nice patina. I wear them to ride, walking around town, shopping, out to eat, everything , makes for a good walking, comfortable boot. From football games to Sunday church. They do it all, and do it in style. I like them so much I picked up another pair in black!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from awesome, long lasting pair of boots I only wear handmade boots (except for my converse and vans) I have a pair of these and another pair of engineer boots that were made specifically for me. I prefer the Redwings. I have had these boots for several years. They are great, I have worn them motorcycling on my Triumphs and work in them welding, etc....I also have a pair of Rangers. My dad has a pair of Redwings that he bought in 1964, the year I was born. FYI-the reason they are a 4 and not a 5 is that I do believe in absolutes but they are as close to a 5 as you can get, in my opinion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great boot made by the greatest country!! These boots are ready for work right out of the box! I ordered a half size smaller than the iron rangers that I have ,and the fit was near prefect! I'm sure the quality of this boot will continue to impress me time and time again.
