STYLE NO. 3356 : Short Engineer

Comfortable yet tough, the Short Engineer features Goodyear welt construction, Red Wing Copper Rough & Tough leather accented with nickel buckles, and a Vibram® 430 Mini-lug sole for added traction.

THE HISTORY BEHIND THE STYLE

Our Engineer boots were originally designed for the namesake railroad men who drove steam locomotives coast to coast but their pull-on simplicity and minimal stitching have made them popular beyond the railyard, with men and women.

Oil Tanned leather is a very durable and vivid leather. Oil Tanned leather is a very durable and vivid leather.

Oil-Tanned Leather

S.B. Foot Tanning Co. is best known for oil-tanned leather which is used to build a variety of timeless Red Wing styles. This leather is water, stain and perspiration resistant, and has a more natural look and feel because less finishing materials have been applied, allowing its natural beauty to shine through. Oil-tanned leather is exceptionally durable and has been used to build countless work boots throughout Red Wing’s 108+ year history.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too wide around the heel. I was bought a size 6 for my birthday. These felt way too small so I changed for a size 7. They felt very loose around the heel but fitted around the rest of my foot. I have tried to wear these boots three times now and each time I get only a few steps before my socks have been pushed down so much they are bunched up around the middle of my foot and my bare heel is rubbing the leather at the back. I've tried putting a thick heel grip in and it makes no difference. I fear these were a very expensive mistake.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love, Love, Love!!! These boots are spectacular! They are so well-made and I know they will last and last and keep getting more comfortable. I normally wear a size 9 1/2 or 10. I got a size 9 after reading the reviews that they run a little big. The 9s are snug across my toes and there is a small amount of heel slippage, but they feel like the right size for me. The Copper color is gorgeous.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gorgeous color The copper short engineer boots for women are STUNNING. I personally liked the boundary black leather more on the website until I saw these in the store. The copper color has so much character and is a very classy looking boot. I'm usually a 7 D (a little wider than standard). Since these do not come in D, I ordered the B width and they fit snug, but comfortably. They seem to run slightly narrow. If any of you ladies have larger calves like myself, these short engineers are perfect. Overall, I am very impressed with the fit and the design. Very beautiful oil-tanned leather and an extremely durable and comfortable Vibram sole that will get me through many Chicago winters to come.
