STYLE NO. 9075 : Classic Moc

Modeled after Red Wing’s original work boot style, the 9075 is a 6-Inch Moc Toe featuring Black Harness leather, white Traction Tred rubber outsole, triple stitched quality and Goodyear welt construction.

THE HISTORY BEHIND THE STYLE

Nothing says, “Red Wing”, like a moc toe boot with a white polyurethane outsole. It’s a style we started making in the 1950s for sportsmen but it worked equally well on farms and in factories due to that Traction Tred sole with its minimal tread that sheds mud and provides the underfoot comfort the work day required. The crescent-shaped stitching on the toe was inspired by the construction of the shoes, or “moccasins” originally worn by the North American Algonquin Indians. Our Classic Moc Toe boots have since become a legend.

Oil-Tanned leather is a very durable and vivid leather. Oil-Tanned leather is a very durable and vivid leather.

Oil-Tanned Leather

S.B. Foot Tanning Co. is best known for Oil-Tanned leather which is used to build a variety of timeless Red Wing styles. This leather is water, stain and perspiration resistant, and has a more natural look and feel because less finishing materials have been applied, allowing its natural beauty to shine through. Oil-Tanned leather is exceptionally durable and has been used to build countless work boots throughout Red Wing’s 110+ year history.

STYLE NO. 9075 : Classic Moc

A new pair of Red Wing Heritage boots should fit comfortably tight on your foot, with enough room to freely wiggle your toes. Over time the full grain leather upper, leather footboard and cork midsole mold to your feet, creating an enduring and customized fit over time with each wear.

The 9075 is built using the No. 23 Last:

  • Was created in the 1950s and is Red Wing’s most iconic last
  • Includes extra room in the forefoot and instep for easy entry
  • Fits a variety of foot shapes
  • Most customers buy Red Wing Heritage footwear 1/2 size smaller than their normal size
  • Trying on Red Wing Heritage footwear in a store is recommended to get the perfect fit

Rated 5 out of 5 by from only boot to trust on high steel! Been wearing these boots for over 45 years. As a young bolt punk, these shoes gave me a bit of confidence to climb out on a sunshade 340 feet above Manhattan sidewalks. Left the irownworker's trade when my knee gave out. Stuck with these shoes until I retired 4 years ago.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best boot period I have to say wether on a plane or under the truck, this boot has you covered. After the break in period was over I found myself coming home from work and wearing them till bed time. I used to change shoes or take off my work shoes immediately after walking in my door. Just love em. Worn for four years now and recrafted after 3. I have to say the tread wears fast but the soft sole is part of what I love. No fatigue from hours of working on concrete. Also, the leather darkens a lot. You must keep these things oiled and that is just part of the deal. You be nice to them and you will have great boots for as long as you care to wear them. High cost up front but it pays off fast.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from one year in, and I'm never going back I found a new pair of 1907s at a consignment shop for $50 new and couldn't pass up the opportunity to own a pair of redwings. To this day this boot is the best purchase I've ever made. Break in was a bit rough for me, but I refused to leave them off even just for a day. It took about a week and a half to stop hurting, and now that I'm a year in they're almost more comfortable than no shoes at all. I will be staying with red wing heritage for the rest of my life!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Classic Red Wing These are the best functional boot of the Heritage line. They are slightly shorter in length, but wider than other models within the heritage line. For example I own the same size Classic Engineer, Beckman, and Moc's and the Moc's are the widest at purchase. They provide more of a fitted feel, and seem to break in quicker than my others. I did luck out and get Moc's with a black sole after some searching, which I appreciate. The black sole in my opinion provides a much cleaner look. The highlights -Fresh out of the box they are comfortable, pliable, and supportive. -Unlike much of the Heritage line, the leather is soft and supple through out the forefoot and above the ankle. -The sole does not have that "walking on plank lumber" feel that the majority of the heritage line has. If you are looking for a classically crafted and looking work boot, then this is the model line for you. The Negatives (or lesser positives as the case it) -The sole does not have the longevity of the other "cork" or "leather" footbed shoes. What it lacks in durability though it makes up for in wearability. -The leather is not water tight out of the box, and it does discolor when waterproofing agents (oil, wax) is applied. So fi you are looking to keep the boots the on the shelf color, you will have to deal with damp footwear. -The Sole is very light colored and takes some time to discolor. In all, I can wear these boots 14 hours a day (averaging about 7.2 miles per day) with minimal foot fatigue, and very little ankle irritation from day one. I would certainly recommend these boots for anyone who is on their feet for much of the day, BUT spends that time on concrete or similar material. I am not sold that these soles would stand up to wear and tear from gravel or blacktop work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great boot This is a great boot for everyday working. It takes about two weeks to break in. Love the performance and look. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Work Boot I've worn RW's for over 25 years. Bought my first steel toe pair in the very late 80's as a teen and wore those to the bone working grounds maintenance for local parks and rec. Those boots never let me down but I lost them somewhere in moving from one house to another in college, so learned early on the quality of RW products. I usually wear a 10 in most shoes/boots but for RW I go half size down to 9.5. Everyone has a preference in how they want boots to fit/feel and everyone does different things with their boots, so I take reviews with a grain of salt, but here's what I have to say. I use my RW's for landscape/hardscape/outside work and not as a fashion accessory (that's cool if you do, I'm just saying mine are for work). I prefer the boot not slip on my heel and my foot not slide around the toe box, so the fit at 9.5 works perfect for me. I've only had two pair of RW boots in the last 10 years and both were a little tight to get on at first, and yes, they were stiff until broken in, but every shoe/boot has a break in period even if they feel like you're "walking on clouds" right of the box. I've never tried to hack the break in period - I don't soak them in water, coat them in oils, heat them up, wear socks I normally would not wear or any other trick to speed the break in process along. I take the boots out of the box, lace them up, put them on and wear them. A lot. Out side of a little oil here and there I knock the dirt off the bottoms here and there, make sure the laces are not frayed and if I have an issue with stitching or sole I send them to RW's repair shop or take them to the local RW authorized repair shop if it's something minor. Another reason I buy Goodyear Welted boots, they can be resoled and repaired so for all the environmental types that fact alone should be a huge selling point. I also like the fact the sole does not carry mud/dirt and I don't have to stop every five minutes when working in wet conditions to clean the gunk out of the bottoms of my shoes because it's added extra weight and makes me feel like I'm walking on uneven river rocks. Lastly, while the break in period can vary it's worth it as the boots will form to your foot and create a great fit. I can be really tough on boots/shoes as indicated in the attached picture, which shows the outcome of the one time I tried to work in something other than an RW boot. I found out how quickly I can waste $100+ on a shoe that can't be repaired and just falls apart under what I consider normal work conditions. Thanks RW for making a solid product and for having craftsmen/women that can stand behind it and fix it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pair of boots! RW 8883 was my first pair of nice boots, i went to RW after my (can't even remember the last brand i was wearing) boots fell apart on me in the middle of winter walking to class, foot soaked. ALOT of 1 starts people say the boot didn't fit or break in, its best to go in and try it on, get some advice from saler...i understand you can find good deal online but knowledge from those RW store guys are awesome! like first thing you want with your new RW boots is a pair of thick socks! keep the boot snug and less blisters, wear it during the summer with the thick socks... heat from your feet will mod those bad boys quicker. Just wear them, took 2 month of wearing to break mine in completely, it was comfortably after 2 weeks of getting used to the weights...only time i'm not in these are when i'm in sneakers at the gym.
