STYLE NO. 8187 : Pecos

The 8187 is from our Pecos western boot collection, with a touch of our iconic design added in. Built with Brown Boomer leather, Traction Tred Cushion Crepe Wedge, Goodyear welt construction and triple stitched quality this is a Red Wing quality work boot in western styling.

THE HISTORY BEHIND THE STYLE

The origins of the Pecos collection's unique shape and design can be traced back to Spanish riding boots on ranches and plantations in the American Southwest. What began for us in the 1930s as a more traditional cowboy boot, complete with decorative stitching, has evolved today to become a more recognizable Red Wing Heritage boot, though it maintains the characteristics of what made it a great style to begin with - most notably its pull-on entry and classic side seam shaft.

Oil-Tanned leather is a very durable and vivid leather. Oil-Tanned leather is a very durable and vivid leather.

Oil-Tanned Leather

S.B. Foot Tanning Co. is best known for Oil-Tanned leather which is used to build a variety of timeless Red Wing styles. This leather is water, stain and perspiration resistant, and has a more natural look and feel because less finishing materials have been applied, allowing its natural beauty to shine through. Oil-Tanned leather is exceptionally durable and has been used to build countless work boots throughout Red Wing’s 110+ year history.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Boot...Built to Last I've had my boots for 25 years and I can say with absolute confidence that they are the real deal! The quality materials and professional workmanship are obvious as they have handled everything thrown at them for the past quarter of a century. I look forward to wearing my Red Wings for another 25 years!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These are good boots. This is the first 'expensive' pair of boots i've ever owned. It makes a difference what you put on your feet. These boots are worn every day, and I expect they will last many years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Everyday Wear Boot I bought this boot to wear during warmer months with lighter-weight jeans and t-shirts. Super comfortable and great casual styling. I love the lower height of this pull-on. Would love to see this in a mid-brown and charcoal/black, with the same distressed finish.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Wanting to know what differs with redwing work boots I thought redwing was the most comfortable boot I ever had on. Until I got the pair I got now. I just about can't stand to put my feet in them. It's the same boot that I have bought in the past.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from beautiful boot, opening a little wide These are fantastic books. Quality is unmatched. Super comfy right out of the box. Love the sole as well. The leather is a great color and has a really nice feel to it. My only problem is top of the boot is so wide that they bulge out with jeans over them. I wear Levis 501, which isn't even a skinny/slim jean and they still bulge some. It's not a huge deal, just wish the vamp was a little more narrow. Overall, very nice work Red Wing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great boots I have the EXACT SAME BOOT which is the 1178 but $80 less. Why redwing would offer the same boot but for $80 more is beond me. Fantastic boots though.
