STYLE NO. 3402 : Clara

The 3402 Clara is made with our Olive Mohave leather, constructed with a three-quarter Goodyear welt and stacked leather heel. A Vibram® Mini-Lug outsole provides durability, moisture resistance and traction for years of honest wear.

THE HISTORY BEHIND THE STYLE

Red Wing has been making women’s hiking and riding boots as far back as the 1920s. The Clara is a throwback to our early women’s boots, with a moc toe and lace-up style, but just not quite as tall, and updated with a more tapered silhouette and grippy Vibram® outsole for 21st century adventures.

Roughout leather is a reverse suede leather made in our S.B. Foot tannery. Roughout leather is a reverse suede leather made in our S.B. Foot tannery.

Roughout Leather

Roughout leather is created using a reverse-suede technique at our very own S.B. Foot Tanning Co. While most tanneries split, thin and weaken the hide to create the rough suede surface, we simply use the other side of the hide. By doing so, we avoid splitting or thinning our full-grain hides. This makes our Roughout leather just as strong and durable as our other leathers.

STYLE NO. 3402 : Clara

A new pair of Red Wing Women's Heritage boots should fit comfortably tight on your foot, with enough room to freely wiggle your toes. The full grain leather upper, leather covered foam footboard and cork inlay create an enduring and customized fit over time, with each wear.

The 3402 is built using the No. 110 Last:

  • Used on our stacked leather heeled boots
  • Features a slightly tapered round toe for a comfortable fit and a timeless look

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful and Comfortable I bought these boots a little over a year ago. I usually wear a size 8, but my feet are narrow so I bought a size 7.5. They were slightly snug at first, and they took about three days (with wearing thick wool socks) to break in: after that they fit perfectly. It is possible to tie them very tight to compensate for the width. The heel is wide so I can wear them to work and it does not hurt to stand in them for 8+ hours. I have worn these through ice, snow, heavy rain, dirt and mud. Not only have my socks never gotten wet, but these boots still look and feel as great as when I first got them, and I wear them almost every day. I've seen a few comments about the heel being an issue, but I really (unintentionally) beat these boots up and the material is still holding up very well. I have not had any issues with the heel falling off or wearing down. Whenever I walk through mud, dirt, snow (or salt during the winter), I always wipe the boots off with a damp cloth to keep the leather neat. I also usually polish them once every few weeks, more often depending on the weather conditions, to keep them looking nice and clean. Overall, I am really happy with these boots.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bad Heel Quality My wife got these when they came out late last year and they have now become unwearable because of the heels falling apart. The rubber on the bottom wore through in just a couple months and into the stacked leather heel. Now, the rubber has fallen off, with a metal screw being exposed. In my opinion, this is unacceptable for such an expensive boot!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So comfortable! I love, love, love this boot! I've worn these out for several nights out on the town. The first night I wore them I didn't feel any pain and then just knew I was going to pay for it the next day. I was so excited to wake up without my feet throbbing! The Clara is probably the most comfortable boots I have ever owned!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfy and Stylish Purchased Clara boots back in February and been in love ever since. First day they were a little snug, but after that they were super comfy. Will be purchasing another pair of Heritage boots soon! They go great with a dress or jeans.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love my boots This is that kind of shoe you can wear anywhere anytime, doesn't matter how you dress is always a perfect match... Could be a little bit heavy after many hours but still love them... Narrow the first couple of days, then just great. The best shoes I ever had!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Defective Heel - and Red Wing doesn't care! As a previous reviewer mentioned, the heel on this boot is completely defective. I bought them for my girlfriend, and am so embarrassed I gave her such a terrible gift. Within a month or two, the outsole on the heel wears completely through and then just falls right off. Red Wing will replace the boots with a new pair, but that heel will ALSO wear through and fall off within a month or two, and they're unwilling to replace the heel with a higher quality material. Buyer beware! $360 is a lot of money to spend on a pair of boots you can't even wear for two months.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth every penny! I absolutely love these boots. Perfect heel height and a very classy yet sophisticated look for so many outfit styles.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Product hurt my foot and the heel was defective and came apart. My boyfriend and I made a day trip to Redwing from the Twin Cities just for these boots, he absolutely loves his, I on the other hand, have had them for less than a month and the inside of my left one has a leather seam that gives me bruises and is incredibly uncomfortable, not the mention the heel is coming apart on one of the levels. I am incredibly disappointed to say the least. I loved the look of the boots and I was so excited because the sales women told me that I would have these boots for the rest of my life making $360 a reasonable price. But after being defective after less than a month I will be going back to Redwing and attempting to get a refund.
