STYLE NO. 3365 : Iron Ranger

This lightweight, comfortable and tough Iron Ranger is built specifically for women. Features include Goodyear welt construction, nickel hardware, a Vibram® 430 Mini-lug sole for added traction, and premium, Red Wing Amber Harness leather.

THE HISTORY BEHIND THE STYLE

The early history of iron mining on Minnesota’s Mesabi Range is intertwined with that of Red Wing Shoe Company. The miners needed tough but comfortable boots that could stand up to the long days and tough conditions a northern Minnesota mine pit presented. Red Wing responded with a boot made of thick leather with an oil resisting outer sole, speed lacing hooks, and a comfortable cork midsole. The defining characteristic of these boots though, was their double layered toe, capped to protect the miner’s feet from injury as they labored with hand tools and heavy machinery. That boot is still made today, the fittingly named Iron Ranger, and it represents not only Red Wing’s commitment to making boots for working men and women but also its Minnesota origins.

Oil-Tanned leather is a very durable and vivid leather. Oil-Tanned leather is a very durable and vivid leather.

Oil-Tanned Leather

S.B. Foot Tanning Co. is best known for Oil-Tanned leather which is used to build a variety of timeless Red Wing styles. This leather is water, stain and perspiration resistant, and has a more natural look and feel because less finishing materials have been applied, allowing its natural beauty to shine through. Oil-Tanned leather is exceptionally durable and has been used to build countless work boots throughout Red Wing’s 110+ year history.

STYLE NO. 3365 : Iron Ranger

A new pair of Red Wing Women's Heritage boots should fit comfortably tight on your foot, with enough room to freely wiggle your toes. The full grain leather upper, leather covered foam footboard and cork filler create an enduring and customized fit over time, with each wear.

The 3365 is built using the No. 106 Last:

  • Slightly modified for a better fit and sleeker feel for women
  • Timeless round toe shape gives the character to many of our most popular boots

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Took awhile to break in, but so worth it! I got these fitted in-store in Boise and absolutely love them. They look great with boot cut or skinny jeans and give a simple, vintage look to any dress or skirt. I normally wear a 6.5, but I love the red wing insoles because I have high arches so I ended up getting a 7.5 and they feel great with the insole. I can wear them all day. Only downside is it took me about 3 weeks to break them in on the outsides just below my pinky toe, but that is where my foot is the widest so maybe that was just me. I highly recommend using redwing's leather conditioner for a quicker break-in and to make your shoes look like new each time. Now that they are broken in they are my absolute favorite shoe no matter if it comes to working outside, in the leather shop or going out on the town! So versatile!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Oh. My. Word. I was originally looking at the Clara, but after seeing the more narrow toe box, I went with the Iron Rangers and I am so in love. I wore them straight out of the box for a week in West Texas, and the only breaking in that affected me was the shaft and one spot on the inside of my heel on the left foot. I came home, cleaned them well with saddle soap, oiled them with neatsfoot oil, and that (in combination with the initial break-in) made them the most comfortable boots I've ever worn. I never, ever want to take them off!! They're beautiful, classic, and a perfect fit. I'm so happy. I typically wear an 8.5 or 9 and bought a 9. They were snug in the store except for the length, and they stretched and molded for a perfect fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from True to size for me Two Red Wing stores near me. One was not so helpful. The other was great and I ordered from them. I highly recommend going to a store for a fitting and general support. The good ones really know their products. I measured a size 7 but felt they cramped my toes on my larger foot in a place that doesn't stretch much. Got the 7.5 and they are perfect but definitely needed to break in. After three weeks of nearly every day wear I can say that I love these boots. People who never comment on my clothes have told me that they really like them. I use other boots for serious snow, mostly because I don't want them to be heavily exposed to corrosive salt. That said, I have worn them to go quickly to the car and in supermarket parking lots and they did get a bit of snow on them. They cleaned up easily with a damp cloth. Note that they are not insulated and therefore are not meant to keep your feet warm when it is well below freezing as it has been here for days on end. I'll be ordering the brown ones in a few weeks so I can give my black ones a rest every now and then.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Took a little working in, but they're worth it! My foot is definitely on the wider side of average, but "wide" width shoes are too much for me. So these boots really took a lot of working in - but they're worth it. I'm so happy I got these, every time I wear them. It took a shoe horn to get my foot in the first three or for times, and I wore them around the house for a couple of weekends before I was ready to wear them out. As of now, I still don't plan on a whole day in them, but they're getting there. They look great, they're easy to walk in, and I feel like they can take on anything.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from so stoked! My boots only took a couple days to arrive. I was a little bummed I couldn't get the mens version of this boots (since it stops at a mens size 7). But very pleased to say I couldn't be happier with the womens! Just arrived so they are stiff, and I haven't seen the wair in process yet, but I'm really excited to get them worn! Recommend these 100% :). Thanks Red Wings!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not as good as I hoped for I also own a pair of 8114 Iron rangers, which is the men's version of this boot. I must say that the men's seem much more well made and much "tougher." I was actually pretty disappointed when I received this women's version in the mail. Yes I know they are supposed to be lighter and slimmer, but compared to the men's, they just seem of lesser quality and I'm actually afraid they will damage easily if I actually put them to work. I hope that I am wrong, and that these turn out to have the same toughness as the men's. Other than that they are visually beautiful, and decently comfortable. I didn't have a break in period with the men's version but I certainly will with this pair. I typically wear a women's 7-7.5. I got these in a 7 and they fit like a glove. So for me they were pretty true to size. Plenty of wiggle room on the toes. The sides are quite narrow which is what is causeing my discomfort but I think as they break in this will go away. Overall, I think they are decent boots, but for me, I will be buying the men's versions in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these boots I absolutely love these boots. I sized down a size. Typically I am a 9.5 in flat shoes and I purchased the 8.5. Out of the box they were uncomfortably snug volume/width-wise but I had enough room lengthwise. After about two weeks of everyday wear and a few day-long rides, they fit perfectly. They feel like they stretch to about a full size larger on volume after they are broken in. The leather is super high-quality, stitching is flawless, and I view these as a purchase to last at least a decade.
