STYLE NO. 3367 : Iron Ranger

This lightweight, comfortable and tough Iron Ranger is built specifically for women. Features include Goodyear welt construction, nickel hardware, a Vibram® 430 Mini-lug sole for added traction, and premium, Red Wing Honey Chinook nubuck leather.

THE HISTORY BEHIND THE STYLE

The early history of iron mining on Minnesota’s Mesabi Range is intertwined with that of Red Wing Shoe Company. The miners needed tough but comfortable boots that could stand up to the long days and tough conditions a northern Minnesota mine pit presented. Red Wing responded with a boot made of thick leather with an oil resisting outer sole, speed lacing hooks, and a comfortable cork midsole. The defining characteristic of these boots though, was their double layered toe, capped to protect the miner’s feet from injury as they labored with hand tools and heavy machinery. That boot is still made today, the fittingly named Iron Ranger, and it represents not only Red Wing’s commitment to making boots for working men and women but also its Minnesota origins.

Nubuck leather is a full grain leather with a buffed top surface. Nubuck leather is a full grain leather with a buffed top surface.

Nubuck Leather

S.B. Foot Tanning Co. Nubuck leather is a full grain leather with a buffed top surface that results in a fine gauge nap on the grain side (top surface) of the leather. This step of buffing the grain-side leaves the leather surface with a plush, velvety feel. Nubuck’s full grain leather characteristics maintain the same strength and durability as Oil tanned, Smooth Finished, and Roughout leathers.

STYLE NO. 3367 : Iron Ranger

A new pair of Red Wing Women's Heritage boots should fit comfortably tight on your foot, with enough room to freely wiggle your toes. The full grain leather upper, leather covered foam footboard and cork inlay create an enduring and customized fit over time, with each wear.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Took a little working in, but they're worth it! My foot is definitely on the wider side of average, but "wide" width shoes are too much for me. So these boots really took a lot of working in - but they're worth it. I'm so happy I got these, every time I wear them. It took a shoe horn to get my foot in the first three or for times, and I wore them around the house for a couple of weekends before I was ready to wear them out. As of now, I still don't plan on a whole day in them, but they're getting there. They look great, they're easy to walk in, and I feel like they can take on anything.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from so stoked! My boots only took a couple days to arrive. I was a little bummed I couldn't get the mens version of this boots (since it stops at a mens size 7). But very pleased to say I couldn't be happier with the womens! Just arrived so they are stiff, and I haven't seen the wair in process yet, but I'm really excited to get them worn! Recommend these 100% :). Thanks Red Wings!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not as good as I hoped for I also own a pair of 8114 Iron rangers, which is the men's version of this boot. I must say that the men's seem much more well made and much "tougher." I was actually pretty disappointed when I received this women's version in the mail. Yes I know they are supposed to be lighter and slimmer, but compared to the men's, they just seem of lesser quality and I'm actually afraid they will damage easily if I actually put them to work. I hope that I am wrong, and that these turn out to have the same toughness as the men's. Other than that they are visually beautiful, and decently comfortable. I didn't have a break in period with the men's version but I certainly will with this pair. I typically wear a women's 7-7.5. I got these in a 7 and they fit like a glove. So for me they were pretty true to size. Plenty of wiggle room on the toes. The sides are quite narrow which is what is causeing my discomfort but I think as they break in this will go away. Overall, I think they are decent boots, but for me, I will be buying the men's versions in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these boots I absolutely love these boots. I sized down a size. Typically I am a 9.5 in flat shoes and I purchased the 8.5. Out of the box they were uncomfortably snug volume/width-wise but I had enough room lengthwise. After about two weeks of everyday wear and a few day-long rides, they fit perfectly. They feel like they stretch to about a full size larger on volume after they are broken in. The leather is super high-quality, stitching is flawless, and I view these as a purchase to last at least a decade.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Material quality was inconsistent The leather panel on the outside of the right shoe seemed to be puckering a little after the first day of wear. It looked like it could have been a tension problem in the machine that did the stitching, but I also thought maybe that's just how it was breaking in. Now almost a week later, the rest of the shoe looks fine and the left shoe looks great, but that panel is puckered and almost baggy. It actually seems like a slightly thinner piece of leather than the rest of the shoe. I checked inside the shoe and it looks like a rougher, lesser quality than the other leather that was used. It's actually noticably different than what the rest of the shoe is made of. I'm a little disappointed, because I spent more than I normally would have to get a top quality shoe that will last me for years, but I'm afraid that part of the shoe is going to blow out a lot faster than it should. I would exchange them but I'm pretty sure it's too late, I've been wearing them outside for the past week and already treated them for water resistance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I LOVE THESE!!!!!! I just bought these boots yesterday and am already compelled to write a review! I have been eyeing these babies for a while but the price was the hitch. I walked into my local shoe store the other day and found them on the shelf!!! I fell in love. These shoes are impeccably made and fit like a glove. They are so cute, make my foot look small (huge plus) and are so so so comfortable. I am so happy to have these and hope that Red Wing keeps making women's boots. I think its time that we all payed a little more for quality, made in the U.S.A goods. Its just worth it! Thanks you Red Wing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Vintage style and durability! I LOVE these boots! I have some original 1930s boots that I've wanted to replace with a modern version, and these are some of the only boots I've seen that compare in durability and design. They're super hardy, and I love the classic style! Boots like these will always be in vogue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Craftsmanship, quality and comfort! The boots I've been dreaming someone would make are now on my feet! These are incredibly well made boots. The leather is the perfect thickness- strong and comfortable. I haven't wanted to take them off since I put them on. They are molding to my feet the more I wear them; they feel as if they were custom made. I wear size 8 almost always and I purchased these in a size 8. They fit like a glove, hugging my feet without being claustrophobic. The sole is has the perfect amount of grip. They don't just feel great, though. These are some beautiful boots. I'm going to wear these with everything- dresses, jeans and everything in between. I know that I'll be resoling these when the bottoms wear out because they are made to last. Thank you, Red Wing, for making shoes for women. I'm thrilled with them. They are going to be worth every penny because I will be wearing them all the time!
