STYLE NO. 9011 : Beckman Round

Part of the Beckman collection, the 9011 is a 6-Inch, round toe style boot made from our exclusive Black Cherry Featherstone dress leather. Classic in look, a bit of polish keeps them looking sharp.

THE HISTORY BEHIND THE STYLE

In the early twentieth century, Red Wing, Minnesota had only a few dirt roads. In the winter, or after a good rain, those streets would get muddy, making a good pair of boots a necessity. But our founder, Charles Beckman, a respectable businessman, wanted a pair he could brush off and wear right into his shoe store on Main Street. So that’s what his Red Wing Shoe Company made—sturdy, versatile footwear that could take some abuse and still look good. And that’s the kind of shoes and boots we’ve been making ever since.

Full finished leathers have a smooth, polished surface that enhances the natural beauty of the leather. Full finished leathers have a smooth, polished surface that enhances the natural beauty of the leather.

Smooth-Finished Leather

Smooth-finished leathers have a polished surface that enhances the true beauty and quality of the leather. Only the most premium, top-quality hides are used to craft smooth-finished leathers. The result is a beautiful, classic-looking leather used to build more elegant styles, such as the Red Wing Heritage Beckman Collection. The polished look and feel of the smooth-finished leather requires more specialized care and attention to keep it maintained.

STYLE NO. 9011 : Beckman Round

A new pair of Red Wing Heritage boots should fit comfortably tight on your foot, with enough room to freely wiggle your toes. Over time the full grain leather upper, leather footboard and cork midsole mold to your feet, creating an enduring and customized fit over time with each wear.

The 9011 is built using the No. 8 Last:

  • Features a bump toe for more room up-front
  • Fits a variety of foot shapes
  • Should be sized up ½ if used with a footbed or orthotic

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love This Boot. Please make the Cherry available in size 14 Excellent fine boot. I am a size 13 wide, so I got this boot in a size 14. After a week of breaking them in, they fit and feel great. I have this boot in Back and Cigar and absolutely love them. The only problem I have with WR is why don't they have the Black Cherry in a size 14? I also have the Iron Ranger 8111 and 8085 in a size 14 and I love them. However I can't get any of the other Iron Ranger styles in a size 14. Just frustrating.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beckman Rubber Soles issues Not sure who else is having issues with the front rubber sole of the the Beckman. I'm a huge fan of Red Wings and have nine. And only have this problem with my 9011 and 9013. The front rubber sole on the 9011 cracked badly after 4yrs and needed replacing, went with Vibram as replacement. Now the soles on new pair of 9013 are falling off after only 24hrs of wear - absolutely shocking. Apart from that I would absolutely recommend Red Wings (even the Beckham - they are just the classiest), if you want boots with good quality leather and craftsmanship; their belts and leather care products are great too. RWs Heritage series are quality footwear that will get even better with use (and care) and look simply awesome. Just a pity they didn't source a more durable sole for the Beckman - the model named after the founder Charles Beckman no less.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Still nice after 3 years - but too large Bought them at a RW store about 3 years ago (Cherry). At the store, they fit well when trying them on (size 10.5). In typical Oxfords, I usually wear size 11. Break-in period went on for almost 6 months... Now, they are slightly too large, and I wish I had bought them in a size 10. Most of the time, I wear them for casual use and sometimes in the office during winter season. They look classy - but still don't hide their work boot heritage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Secret to breaking in Red Wings! I looked at these for a couple of years, but I knew the break-in was going to be tough. Then I tried the shoe with a Red Wing insert. What a difference! The inserts are worth every penny you pay for them. If you are going to spend the money for a great boot, spend the extra gifts to seventy dollars to make them 100% more comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the investment. I bought my style 9011 boots more than a decade ago. They are holding up extremely well and still look great due to their durability and timeless style.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fanatic! First Time Buying Expensive Boots But Very Happy With Them (I got the wrong size) After hours of research and looking at different brands, I finally settled on the Red Wing Beckman. I caught it on sale on a different site, but they only had a half size down from my true size. I'm a size 8 in tennis shoes and I read that you would have to go down a full/half size. Nonetheless, I bit the bullet and gave it a shot. Loved the packaging. Right off the bat, the boots felt like quality. Thick, heavy leather and gave a sturdy feel. Pro-tip, don't tie the boot until you have it on. I found out the hard way that it was a tight fit getting in when it's laced up the first time. Standing in it, it was uncomfortable but wasn't too bad. It was to be expected since these need to be broken in. I had thin socks on at first and I had plenty of toe room. I wish I was able to get a 7, but the site sales were final. With thicker socks, they fit nice and snug but still had a bit too much toe room. Not a deal breaker. The first day in them, I walked the mall with my gf for 4 straight hours. Terrible feeling. My feet were KILLING me. However, it was well worth it. Once the leather insole started to form to my feet, it was super comfortable. Honestly, it took about a week to break in. Not so bad! Absolutely love them now. Just a TAD bit of heel slip, but I think it's because I got the wrong size. I haven't slipped at all, either. And it's been raining a lot in Houston, lately. They get dusty with wear, so make sure to grab a horse hair brush! Condition and clean them every few months as well. The boot was a little redder than I expected, but it wasn't a problem. Finding a matching belt was and watch strap was. Overall, great quality boots. Red Wing has impressed me. I look forward to buying the Iron Rangers in the future whenever I get more cash. But this time, in a full size down. Highly Recommend.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Good idea for shoes, unfortunately many mistakes in production Congratulations for this idea of making such a shoe. Great materials and "made in usa" Unfortunately, the second time I got a pair of shoes on which the industrious shoemaker had a bad day. The dealer in Germany does not take it back, customer service from RW-Europe and customer service USA do not speak with me. Everyone ignores my complaint. That's not fair! You do not do that with customers. So I destroyed 350.- and 300.- for shoes you can not wear. The people in the production work hard and good, and the decision to make such a shoe is very good. It is a pity that one does not help the customers when a bad shoe sneaks through the final inspection!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful Classic Styling, Brutally Tough! I mostly prefer black boots but the black cherry finish caught my eye. I fell in love with these boots as soon as I saw them on the shelf. I was actually looking for another pair of steel toe boots which isn't an option on these boots but I had to get these anyway. They were a bit stiffer than I expected & tend to stiffen up if I haven't worn them in a while but they have held up really well for 8 years of wear. My only complaint is that the soles leave the worst scuff marks on vinyl flooring in my kitchen & bathrooms which are hard to remove. I don't understand why this happens with these boots. Has anyone else had this problem? I have 2 other pairs of Red Wing steel toe boots & many other brands of boots/shoes that don't leave marks. I tossed out some super cheap shoes that did it but not high quality like these. Although there is still plenty of tread left on them I'm considering getting new soles put on or I will have to leave them at work. Still, it's a fine boot that could last a lifetime if taken care of properly.
