STYLE NO. 9436 : Williston 6-inch
The 9436 6-inch Williston is made with Black Featherstone leather finished with high luster at our S.B. Foot Tannery in Red Wing, Minnesota. The Williston’s premium Gro-Cord outsole, most recently exclusive to the Japanese market, adds durability with a Vibram forepart heel and tap on a leather sole bend.
THE HISTORY BEHIND THE STYLE
Red Wing’s legacy of dress footwear stretches back nearly a century. The Williston is born out of archival inspiration from formal boots that were first produced in Red Wing in the '20s and '30s. The Gro-Cord outsole that the 6-inch Williston is built on has a rich history of its own, adding industry-leading durability to dress boots first appearing on Red Wing dress boots in the 1920s.
Full finished leathers have a smooth, polished surface that enhances the natural beauty of the leather.
Smooth-finished leathers have a polished surface that enhances the true beauty and quality of the leather. Only the most premium, top-quality hides are used to craft smooth-finished leathers. The result is a beautiful, classic-looking leather used to build more elegant styles, such as the Red Wing Heritage Beckman Collection. The polished look and feel of the smooth-finished leather requires more specialized care and attention to keep it maintained.
Black Featherstone Leather
In order to build a Red Wing boot to an exact size and width, the boot is constructed around a shoe last.
STYLE NO. 9436 : Williston 6-inch
A new pair of Red Wing Heritage boots should fit comfortably tight on your foot, with enough room to freely wiggle your toes. Over time the Full Grain Leather upper, Leather footboard and Cork Midsole mold to your feet, creating an enduring and customized fit over time with each wear.
The 9436 is built using the No. 220 Last:
A true-fit dress last created specifically for the Williston
Based off of our iconic 210 Postman last but with a less tapered, thinned out toe profile
A thinner sock will make for a comfortable fit, true to size
Fits a variety of foot shapes
Protect and lengthen the life of your boots with our Made in USA, specialty care products; specifically designed to help maintain the unique qualities of Red Wing leather.
PROTECT YOUR INVESTMENT
Red Wing Shoes’ sturdy soles, premium leathers, triple stitching and Goodyear welt construction all work together to make quality boots that will last a lifetime. It takes more than 230 steps to handcraft each pair of Red Wing Shoes but it only takes three steps to keep them clean, conditioned and protected.

Great Looks From a Comfortable BootThese boots are top notch! I was a little worried about the fit at first, but then I started wearing then with thinner dress socks instead of a thick boot sick and it fixed the problem. Super versatile. A great looking boot, made really well, from a great company.

4 pairs with poor qualityMy name is Marc i come from Germany, i ordered the Williston at a RedWing Retailer Store in my home town. The brown version had to be ordered at Redwing Germany due to the fact the store didnt had the brown ones in stock.
The first pair had serious leather faults as well as black rubber sprinkles on the leather.
The second pair they sent was also poor, on the left shoe, the left quarter what carries the eyelets was sewn onto way off, resulting in a crooked/twisted throat throwing the look of the upper shoe the the left.
Then Redwing Germany sent the 3rd Pair, what wasnt any better than the second Pair, same issue.
So here i am now with the 4th pair of Williston, this time the quarter on the left shoe is still off, but not as bad as on the ones before. But again on the left shoe, the whole sole is sewn onto the upper slightly off center.
The Letter in the shoe box says: "The Williston Collection.....,melds our finest materials and construction techniques to create dress footwear that is unrivaled."
Sadly this is not what i have experienced with the Williston, also i am a bit disappointed with the way RedWing did take care about me as a customer. There have never been a sign of accommodation or at least the will to sent me a shoe which does stand the promise of "unrivaled footwear".
This was my first purchase with RedWing and i think it also will be my last.

Restaurant IndustryThis shoe looks fantastic! I can dress it up or dress is down. You will need a shoe horn as it is difficult to wear and remove so if you don't like taking a few minutes to dress then maybe it's not the best shoe for you.
I wear size 11 and the size is correct, I even added Superfeet insoles and fit nice and comfortably snug. I work in a fine dinning restaurant and although my feet don't ache as with an inferior shoe I do get a little fatigue after maybe 2,000 steps as the shoe is a little heavy. The quality of leather is impressive I have worn them 5 days a week for 4 months now and I'm barely contemplating given them a shine. I do use a standard shoe tree every day on them and no foot odors so far. It did take a full week to break in the shoe so be prepared.
The only negative I would say I wish they offered a slip resistant sole, it is not terrible in oiled floors but not the best. The shoe feels a little clunky especially climbing ladders. Last like I mentioned before good luck putting these on without a shoe horn...
Overall the quality and look of this shoe is impressive! I can already tell it will last a long time.

Leather is not worth of Redwing BrandWhat happened... Been wearing the Gentlemen Travelers for years. Thought I'd splurge and give the new mode a go.
Total regret. Leather is way too soft and will soon be stretched out of shape. Prone to wrinkling too.
Really don't know which model to order now. Been a customer for 35 years. Seriously perplexed.

Runs small and narrow compared to Iron RangersThe sizing on this boot is true to size. If you already own a pair of iron rangers, then you should go up a full size at least. I have a pair of iron rangers in size 7 that have stretched out to a comfortable size but I had to go up to a size 8.5 for a comfortable fit since it also runs narrow.
