STYLE NO. 3152 : Work Chukka

The Work Chukka showcases intricate stitching and an Atlas Tred outsole that create a look that stands out in the line. The boot’s laid back appearance and cushioned comfort belie a rugged construction that lasts for years.

THE HISTORY BEHIND THE STYLE

Work boots aren’t always made for heavy lifting in harsh environments. Our Classic Chukka was designed for indoor work where a lighter weight boot is more comfortable and a more pliable sole is better suited for bending, climbing and kneeling and won’t scratch or mark a wood floor.

Roughout leather is a reverse suede leather made in our S.B. Foot tannery. Roughout leather is a reverse suede leather made in our S.B. Foot tannery.

Roughout Leather

Roughout leather is created using a reverse-suede technique at our very own S.B. Foot Tanning Co. While most tanneries split, thin and weaken the hide to create the rough suede surface, we simply use the other side of the hide. By doing so, we avoid splitting or thinning our full-grain hides. This makes our Roughout leather just as strong and durable as our other leathers.

STYLE NO. 3152 : Work Chukka

A new pair of Red Wing Heritage boots should fit comfortably tight on your foot, with enough room to freely wiggle your toes. Over time the Full Grain Leather upper, Leather footboard and Cork Midsole mold to your feet, creating an enduring and customized fit over time with each wear.

The 3152 is built using the No. 210 Last:

  • Was designed for increased flexibility and lighter duty work
  • Most customers buy Red Wing Heritage footwear 1/2 size smaller than their normal size
  • Trying on Red Wing Heritage footwear in a store is recommended to get the perfect fit

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's awesome to experience such great value! I've owned 3141s for years now. These boots provide value similar to that of a vintage Martin guitar! Once they are seasoned it's hard to imagine moving about without them. I wear these everywhere and get a little embarrassed from all the compliments folks give me on these. Years of use make these a great purchase and I love the great tradition, comfort and style of Red Wings! Thanks for all the great values of a pair of great boots. (I think they make me run faster and jump higher, even at 63... :-) )

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Boot Can't say enough about this Red Wing. I ordered my regular size 13 in this shoe. Maybe could have gone down a 1/2 size but 12 1/2 are not offered, regardless the fit is excellent. I think also because if the shape of the toe on this boot a 13 is most likely perfect for me. There is a bit of a break in, however no huge discomfort just the normal break in with all quality footwear. Everytime I put them on they are more comfortable than the day before. Red Wing in my opinion is the best of the best in American made footwear.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good boot, but narrow I measure 10 D on the Brannock. My size 9 Moc toes were tight at first but have broken in nicely. This Chukka is a very different fit. I bought a 9.5 and the length is good but getting them on is a real struggle. The opening at the instep is both low and narrow. Once on they are snug but comfortable, it's just getting my foot through the opening that leaves me wondering if maybe my foot isn't right for these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LIKED THEM SO MUCH I PURCHASED 2 PAIRS! GREAT BOOT! EVEN BETTER, THEY COME IN WIDE. QUALITY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE EXCELLENT. BREAK-IN WAS A BREEZE WITH RED WING MERINO SOCKS.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2 days in and wondering if they are to small Have read that the break in takes time. I am 2 days in and still soooo snug. I want to love these so bad. I wear a 10 1/2 in sneakers and was fitted into a 10. Tell me it gets better!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow! Best shoes ever! That was all I was going to write but the form told me it was too short! So here’s my unabridged version: I sized down half a size and although initially in store the width felt a little tight, within an hour or two I knew I’d made the right decision. By the way I had also ordered in the Wide version and when it arrived to the store it was too wide. I seriously think that although most people will think this shoe is narrow, it will give within hours and feel just perfect! Anyway I could go on and on but ultimately this chukka is pretty much the best show I have every purchased in 38 years of life. I’m a big redwing fan now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well Balanced, High Quality Chukka My background in boots is Dr. Martens, Danner, LL Bean (for muddy conditions) and Clarks. These are my first Red Wings and I decided to start with the chukka as those are more versatile during the upcoming summer months. These are extremely well made - it's obvious the moment you look at them. I am a female with somewhat of a wide foot, and cannot wear women's sizes. I am a men's 8D in all my shoes, and that's what I ordered for this boot. It is a bit on the narrow side, and while my feet felt a bit cramped and sore at first, it did not create any issues during break-in (no chafing, blisters, pressure points). After wearing the boots 2-3 hours a day for about 4 days, they started feeling really great. I wear them with medium hiking socks (Thorlo). The insole is hard, but between the cushioning from the socks and the cork midsole that conforms to the foot, I don't find it uncomfortable, and now (2 weeks later), I can barely feel that I am wearing shoes at all. The briar oil slick color is beautiful, but a little too red - oxblood almost - for my taste. I conditioned the leather with boot oil at which point the color turned a perfect dark brown but the red comes back through the next day. Still, this is my favorite color of what is offered and I think the dark brown looks great with the white sole. Also, due to its slightly dressier/narrow shape, I feel that this boot could qualify as truly unisex - substantial, yet not overly masculine on a woman's foot. This will not be my last Red Wing boot. I am eyeing the Iron Ranger now but will go to a store to get properly sized for those. As I get older, I find it more and more important to take care of my feet; I learned that settling for less expensive shoes is more expensive in the long run as well as wasteful; and I don't mind spending a bit more on a product that is made in this country by skilled craftsman, rather than mass-produced overseas.
